Real Madrid 3-2 Manchester City

The UEFA Champions League Group Stages started in perfect fashion for Real Madrid as they were able to beat, arguably, their strongest opponents in the group, Manchester City in a thrilling game that ended 3-2 to the hosts.

Coach Jose Mourinho has decided to make some shocking changes to the team thatblost 1-0 to Sevilla earlier this week. The starting eleven were: Iker Casillas, Alvaro Arbeloa, Pepe, Raphael Varane, Marcelo, Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Michael Essien, Angel Di Maria, Criatiano Ronaldo, and Gonzalo Higuain.

The first half started great for the Men in White as Real Madrid showed the hunger and determination. They had many chances to score during the first half from the likes of Ronaldo and Higuain but were never able to find the back of the net. After 45 minutes, Real Madrid were clearly the dominant team and it was only a matter of time.

The second half started about the same way as Real Madrid continued showing their attacking threats. Edin Dzeko came on for David Silva after 63 minutes for the Citizens and it took him only 5 minutes to shock everyone and make it 1-0 to Manchester City. Mourinho knew that changes had to be made as he took off Essien, Khedira, and Higuain for Mesut Ozil, Luka Modric, and Karim Benzema.
It didn’t take too long for Real Madrid to get the equalizer as Marcelo scored from a beautiful shot outside the box and into the top right corner. The game was getting more intense and it was Manchester City yet again wgo were able to break the deadlock after a great freekick by Alaxandar Kolarov was misjudged by Casillas on the 85th minute. Things seemed as though they were over for Real Madrid but Benzema was able to restore some belief only 2 minutes later by recieving a great pass from Di Maria and hitting the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal.

With only 3 minutes left of added time, Real Madrid didn’t seen satisfied with only one point, least of all Ronaldo after taking a great, decieving , dipping shot from the edge of the box to hit it past Joe Hart and end the game 3-2 to the hosts.

This is what all Real Madrid fans have been waiting for and the team were finally able to play like champions. All that we have to hope for now is that this win will kick start the season with many othet great resulta to follow.
