It has been a relatively quiet summer transfer season at the White House so far this year but, like every single other transfer season, the rumors have been pretty alive. With two signings already made (Dani Carvajal and Casemiro), what’s happening at Real Madrid?
Well, first of all, they have still been unable to name a manager for next season. With Carlo Ancelotti of Paris Saint-Germain being the obvious front-runner, the French capital are still refusing to let him go and the Spanish capital are waiting patiently. Everyday, the same rumors arise saying things such as, “Ancelotti Will Sign For Real Madrid Tomorrow” or “Within The Next Week”. With time, this has just become known as ‘another rumor’ as Madridista’s all over the world are now simply waiting on official confirmation about the Italian manager. It seems as though he will be signing for the Spanish club very soon but nothing is really for certain at this moment.
As for the players, we have heard many names being linked with Real Madrid but the most important ones at this time are Luis Suarez, Isco, Edinson Cavani, and of course, Gareth Bale. Let’s have a very basic look at each one of these players and how things are with them in regards to the transfer season and Real Madrid:
The attacking Uruguayan, who currently plays for Liverpool, has admitted that he will be willing to look elsewhere as he is fed up of the English press recently. Well, no one can really blame him after the biting incident with Branislav Ivanovic towards the end of last season. Either way, Suarez does not seem happy at his current club, and Florentino Perez has admitted to being a fan of the Uruguayan. Whether or not a deal can materialize though remains to be seen.
The 21-year-old Spanish midfielder has been linked to some of the biggest clubs around after his eye-catching performances with Malaga during the last season and the Spain U21 National Team during the U21 Euro Cup, where he was named MVP after winning the final against Italy U21. Isco has admitted to receiving offers from Real Madrid and Manchester City (Where former Malaga manager, Manuel Pellegrini, has been employed) and now it is simply his choice on where he would want to go next. New Malaga manger, Bernd Schuster, would like to keep the Spanish international but so far, it does not seem very likely.
Yet another Uruguayan forward has been linked to the Spanish capital, and that man is Edinson Cavani. The Napoli star has been receiving the interest of many top European clubs throughout the past couple seasons but has always wanted to stay at his current club. It seems as though his time there is over and is ready to finally move on. The other major interest is coming from Manchester City as well as Chelsea as they all fight to get his signature.
Lastly, comes the man that many have been talking about for a while now: Gareth Bale. The Tottenham winger has grabbed the attention of practically everyone with his performances last season and Florentino Perez has admired him publicly as well as Zinedine Zidane. Real Madrid are more than willing to spend big on the winger but it is proving to be quite difficult to deal with the Tottenham management as they are trying to do whatever they can to keep their star player on their roster for next season.
There is a long summer ahead as Real Madrid will continue to be linked with some of the biggest names in football. The players that will join though remains to be seen as they will have to first, name the new manager as soon as possible and then look to improve their team as soon as they possibly can. With some big names also expected to leave the White House, it proves to be a very tough summer for the Los Merengues management and their players.
It is only a matter of time…
