Real Madrid visited the Vicente Calderon for the second leg of the Copa del Rey after winning the first leg 3-0

Starting Lineup:

Carlo Ancelotti decided to rest some key players for the game but was still able to field a strong team on the night. The starting lineup consisted of:

Iker Casillas [C], Daniel Carvajal, Pepe, Raphael Varane, Alvaro Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Asier Illarramendi, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Isco.

Atlético Madrid:

Real Madrid:
Cristiano Ronaldo (7′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (16′)

Sergio Ramos & Pepe Available:

A lot of worry was put on Sergio Ramos (starter) and Pepe (benched) last night since they were both one yellow card away from being suspended, which meant that they would have missed thr final. Thankfully, they are both available for the match. Ramos only played the first half before being substituted with Nacho not to take any risks.

Cristiano Ronaldo:

Being suspended in the league has its positives as Cristiano Ronaldo was well rested before playing this match against Atlético Madrid. He was able to get two goals, which were both penalties, and also help the team in attack. His two most famous moments in the game though was a nasty foul on Manquillo and having a lighter thrown at his head by one of the Atlético Madrid fans at the end of the first half.

Isco was finally able to get a start in the team and had quite a good game. It might not have been his best performance in a Real Madrid shirt but he surely gave Carlo Ancelotti something to think about when picking his lineups in the coming games as the Spanish midfielder was all over the place and consistently trying to cause danger in the opponents half of the pitch.

Iker Casillas:

There is so much we can say about our legendary captain and he made sure that he shows how good he really is against Atlético Madrid. He has now become the first goalkeeper not to concede a goal in the whole competition as there is only one game left. He has also gone 862 minutes with no goals conceded. Iker Casillas has gone 15 years without a single derby loss so far in his amazing career.

Unbeaten Streak:

Real Madrid have now made it through 24 consecutive games without being unbeaten. Since October 30, 2013:
– 24 Matches Played
– 20 Wins, 4 Draws, 0 Defeats
– 66 Goals Scored; 16 Conceded
