Jesé Rodriguez was never a stranger to Real Madrid fans but, with his great performances this season, he has become a player that everyone is beginning to recognize and love as he continues his pursuit to becoming one of the best young talents in the world.

Name: Jesé Rodriguez Ruiz
Date of Birth: February 26, 1993 (20-Years-Old)
Position: Forward

Jesé Rodriguez began his Real Madrid career at age 14, as he played his part in Real Madrid’s youth team. After a very successful season in 2010-2011, the young Spanish forward was able to be promoted to the Castilla squad, where he would make a name for himself among the other young players who were looking to one day play for the Los Merengues first team.

Since his call-up to the Castilla squad, he has been on great form as many of the Real Madrid fans were looking forward to the day where he would be called up to the senior squad. This finally happened in a friendly against Los Angeles Galaxy as he was able to make an appearance as a substitute for Jose Callejon at the time. His first official call-up was by Jose Mourinho in the UEFA Champions League match against Ajax, but was benched for the full match. He then made is Copa del Rey debut against Ponferradina a few days later, after coming on for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Jesé was able to make his La Liga debut on March 24, 2012 against Real Sociedad but Jose Mourinho made it clear that he is a Castilla player and is not a part of the first-team squad. After that, things were difficult for the young Spanish forward as he began seeking options for first-team football elsewhere to help him develop as a player.

With that said, he tried even harder to show what he is really capable of as he broke the record for the most goals scored in the Castilla squad, after beating the record set by his idol, Emilio Butragueño, with 22 goals.

As the current season drew closer and the FIFA World Cup coming up in the summer, Jesé had to seek his options as Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane both made it clear that they want him to stay. What was about to come was something that he himself wouldn’t expect as he was able to finally show the fans that he is a player that they can really count on, regardless of his age.

Jesé Rodriguez made his UEFA Champions League debut on October 2, 2013 against Copenhagen. He also caught the world’s attention after scoring his first Real Madrid goal against Barcelona in the 2-1 loss. From that moment on, Jesé has continued to improve after scoring many goals and contributing to the matches in whatever way possible.

Goals So Far:

La Liga – 6 Goals
Copa del Rey – 3 Goals

The 20-year-old forward is a great prospect for the future on Real Madrid as his idol is Cristiano Ronaldo, which means one thing: He looks forward to becoming the best player in the world. It’s still early now, but it seems as though anything is possible for our future star, Jesé Rodriguez.
