Real Madrid visited the Allianz Arena as they were looking for their ‘ticket’ to the UEFA Champions League as they were able to beat Bayern Munich 4-0 on the night after an extremely convincing performance.

Starting Lineup:

Carlo Ancelotti knew that he had to go out and attack in the match, even though the first leg ended 1-0 to Los Merengues. The starting lineup consisted of:

Iker Casillas [C], Daniel Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Pepe, Fabio Coentrao, Xabi Alonso, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Angel Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema

Bayern Munich –

Real Madrid –
Sergio Ramos (16′)
Sergio Ramos (20′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (34′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (90′)

Cristiano Ronaldo:

With Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal against Bayern Munich, he has broken yet another record in football. “The Commander” was able to be the first player in history to score 16 goals in a single UEFA Champions League campaign. He continues to help the team with his play and continues to break all kinds of records as he cements his status as the best player in the world. Keep in mind that his goal tally can even get higher as Real Madrid have one more game to play in the competition.

Sergio Ramos:

There is not much more that you can say about Sergio Ramos after his perfect performance against Bayern Munich. The Spanish defender scored two massive goals and was able to defend greatly on the night. His runs into attack and his presence in defense frustrated the Bavarians as Real Madrid were already 2-0 up after only 20 minutes thanks to two amazing headers by Ramos.

Xabi Alonso:

With a perfect game against Bayern Munich from Xabi Alonso and the whole team in general, there was still some bad news on the night. Alonso will be missing the final in Lisbon after receiving a yellow card during the first half. Worst part is that it was deserved as he made a very silly challenge that was unnecessary even though Real Madrid were 3-0 up already. Knowing Real Madrid, they will try to appeal the decision but I personally don’t see it happening and am expecting the Spanish midfielder to miss the final.

Carlo Ancelotti:

Carlo Ancelotti was able to get the tactics perfectly on the night as Real Madrid were able to come out with one of their best performances of the season and beat Bayern Munich 5-0 on aggregate. He played an attacking lineup and concentrated on the counter-attacks as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Angel Di Maria, and Karim Benzema were always up waiting for the ball. Bayern Munich continued to try playing their possession football but were not able to find a way past the Real Madrid defense. Every single Los Blancos player was able to fulfill their jobs to perfection and showed everyone how strong of a team they actually are.

Lisbon, Here We Come!

After Real Madrid’s win on the night, they were able to put their name in the final of the UEFA Champions League as they await their next opponents, which will be the winner between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea. Since 2002, Real Madrid have tried to make it and always failed on their way and this year seems as though it could be the year where they finally make it happen. Hala Madrid!
