The Real Madrid players who were left in the World Cup have been able to play in the semifinals of the competition. Marcelo, Sami Khedira, and Angel Di Maria all had their countries take part in this massive competition. Unfortunately, not all of them were able to make it to the final on the night. Here is how they did in the games:

Brazil 1-7 Germany:

Marcelo (Brazil) –

Marcelo had a horrible game against Germany as he was part of the team to suffer the biggest loss in their World Cup history. He tried but no one was able to make a difference in the game as the only goal for Brazil came from Chelsea’s Oscar. It is surely a forgettable night for Marcelo as he looks forward to the third and fourth place game on Saturday against the Netherlands.

Sami Khedira (Germany)  –

Sami Khedira will surely be the happier of the two players on the pitch that night. The German midfielder was part of the team that came out with a historic 7-1 win and he was on the scoresheet as well, scoring his first goal of the World Cup. Now, he will be looking forward to the biggest occasion of all: The World Cup Final.

Netherlands 0-0 Argentina [PEN. 2-4]:

Angel Di Maria (Argentina) –

Angel Di Maria was on the bench against the Netherlands but didn’t come on due to injury. He will be very happy that his team were able to make it to the final as they play against Germany.
