It’s official: Real Madrid have signed Levante’s goalkeeper, Keylor Navas, for a reported fee of 10 Million Euros. We all knew that it would be happening sooner or later and were simply waiting for the confirmation from the clubs. With that said, what happens to Iker Casillas or Diego Lopez remains to be seen as the club now have three great goalkeepers fighting for the starting position in the team.
Keylor Navas has made his name known worldwide in approximately one month as his World Cup heroics with Costa Rica left everyone shocked and amazed. His saves and agility was a joy for everyone to watch and it did not go unnoticed by the big clubs in the world as Real Madrid did their best to sign the player from his current club at the time, Levante.
With this move to the “White House”, Keylor Navas becomes the first ever Costa Rican to play for Real Madrid. He has now become an icon back in his home country as everyone there is proud to see one of their own play for such a massive football club.

Though many may have their reasons not to want Keylor Navas at the club, they will still surely be welcoming him to Real Madrid with open arms. He will need to prove himself and show why the Los Merengues board fought hard to bring him here but he has the ability and determination to show everyone that he truly deserves to be playing with the best. With that said, this signing increases the goalkeeping debate at the club, which is something that the board and the manager will need to deal with as soon as possible.
