The International Break ended as Real Madrid came back ready to continue their form and hold the top spot. A 4-0 win against Eibar was the best way to be back into La Liga.

Starting Lineup:

Carlo Ancelotti went against everyone’s expectations as he played Isco in place of injured Luka Modric instead of Sami Khedira on the night. It turned out to be the correct option for the Italian manager. The starting lineup consisted of:

Iker Casillas [C], Daniel Carvajal, Pepe, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos, Isco, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema

Scorers:

Eibar –
——

Real Madrid –
James Rodriguez (23′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (43′)
Karim Benzema (69′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (83′)

Toni Kroos:

Not a lot of emphasis is put on Toni Kroos when he plays as he quietly is able to play his game and effectively help the team with some great passes and a vision that is barely seen anywhere else. The German midfielder arrived in Spain with a lot of expectations and, since day one, he has been able to confirm his place in the starting lineup and has never disappointed.

James Rodriguez:

Arriving with a lot of criticism, James Rodriguez has been able to rise above it all and prove all doubters wrong. He may not have had the best performance against Eibar but he was able to score and has shown that he has been able to connect greatly with his teammates. His friendships with players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Marcelo were very obvious and its

Isco:

It seems as though Isco can simply fit anywhere on the pitch! He has made it very obvious that he is there to do whatever the manager asks of him and he is showing it. Against Eibar, he was placed next to Toni Kroos for the first time and did quite well. Of course, he wasn’t as influential as people may have expected, but he did his job to perfection on the night. The Spanish midfielder continues to give Carlo Ancelotti a selection headache.

Cristiano Ronaldo:

Usually, it’s great when a player scores about 20 goals for your team per season and that’s exactly what Cristiano Ronaldo has done. The shocking thing is that it’s only November! The Portuguese has no intention of stopping now and continues to surprise everyone as he improves with each game. There is a lot to be looking forward to from Cristiano as the season goes on.

Fabio Coentrao:

Great news for Real Madrid fans as Fabio Coentrao was finally able to come back last night after an injury. He came on as a substitute for James Rodriguez and it seems like we will be seeing a lot more from the Portuguese defender. Hopefully, his injury worries are finally behind him as he will continue to prove how important he actually is for the team.
