Real Madrid beat Getafe in the early kick-off game as they came out with a relatively comfortable 3-0 win with all goals coming in the second half of the match.

Starting Lineup:

During his pre-match press-conference, Carlo Ancelotti admitted that none of the players really needed a rest and, therefore, it wasn’t surprising to see him field his strongest lineup against Getafe. The starting eleven consisted of:

Iker Casillas [C], Daniel Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos, Isco, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema

Getafe –

Real Madrid –
Cristiano Ronaldo (63′)
Gareth Bale (67′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (79′)

James Rodriguez:

Finally, we were able to see a glimpse of the James Rodriguez that we signed this season. He was coming out with some very disappointing performances in the past few games and it seems as though that was mainly because of his injury rather than a dip in form. Against Getafe, he was all over the place and was able to help the team out in whatever way possible. A great night for the Columbian.

Another game; another man-of-the-match performance from Isco. He continued with his brilliant form against Getafe and he simply seems unstoppable! With him being placed in all types of positions so far this year, he has been able to master each and every single one of them. It will be extremely difficult for Carlo Ancelotti to drop him once Luka Modric returns from his injury. It remains to be seen what will happen once the full squad is back.

Karim Benzema:

What a night. What an assist to Cristiano Ronaldo. Karim Benzema was back at his best against Getafe. He made the right runs, linked up perfectly, and showed everyone exactly why he is the perfect Number 9 for Real Madrid at the moment. Even though he wasn’t able to get his name on the scoresheet, he was arguably one of the pivotal reasons why Los Blancos left the game with three points.

I know that Carlo Ancelotti admitted that no Real Madrid players are in need of rest right now but that doesn’t mean that he should always field the same exact starting eleven! Players such as Asier Illarramendi, Chicharito, and Jese Rodriguez need to have the opportunity to show what they’re capable of and they won’t be able to do it from the bench. Hopefully, we will be able to see more of them in the coming weeks…
