Real Madrid hosted Granada in the early kick-off as they came out with a great 9-1 win on the night, with 5 goals from Cristiano Ronaldo!

Starting Lineup:

Carlo Ancelotti made a few changes to the starting lineup as he rested Daniel Carvajal. The major news was the return of James Rodriguez, who was named as a starter!  The staring lineup consisted of:

Iker Casillas [C], Alvaro Arbeloa, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Karim Benzema

Scorers:

Real Madrid –

Gareth Bale (25′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (30′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (36′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (38′)
Karim Benzema (52′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (54′)
Karim Benzema (56′)
Diego Mainz [OG] (83′)
Cristiano Ronaldo (89′)

Granada –

Roberto Ibanez (74′)

Morale Boost:

Yes, Real Madrid were able to come out with a memorable 9-1 win on the night and it was amazing, don’t get me wrong. With that said, Granada played horribly and that should be kept in mind. With all that, Real Madrid will surely use this win as a morale boost for the upcoming games in La Liga as they chase Barcelona, who are 1 point ahead right now (with a game in hand against Celta de Vigo). Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti have to use this win to their advantage.

Gareth Bale:

Gareth Bale came back after a great performance during the International Break with Wales as he made all the headlines. He did not disappoint on the day with a goal and an assist during Real  Madrid’s 9-1 win against Granada. The Welshman was always up for the runs and took his opportunities well in front of goal and found teammates with ease. Hopefully, he will be able to continue from here as Real Madrid prepare for a very hectic month.

Cristiano Ronaldo:

When a player scores five goals (which could have easily been more), there is really not much that you can say about him! Cristiano Ronaldo showed us all some glimpses of his usual self and it looks like his dip in form is now in the past. The Portuguese took his chances extremely well, connected with the team brilliantly, and had a perfect game throughout the 90 minutes. We are all looking forward to seeing more from him in the coming weeks!CCRR

James Rodriguez:

James Rodriguez came back after his injury and looked very comfortable on the pitch. The Colombian midfielder got an assist to his name and was able to continue on the great form that he was in before the injury. It will be quite difficult now for Carlo Ancelotti to pick between him and Isco but hopefully, he will be able to make it work! With players coming back from injury, Ancelotti finally has more options on the pitch and on the bench whenever needed.
