Real Madrid and Espanyol have both officially announced the transfer of Kiko Casilla from Espanyol to the Spanish Capital as it looks like both, Keylor Navas and Casilla will be Real Madrid’s goalkeepers for the coming season and this pretty much ends any talk of David De Gea joining Los Blancos.
“Real Madrid C. F. and R. C. D. Espanyol have agreed to the transfer of Kiko Casilla, subject to a necessary medical examination. The player will be tied to the club for the next five seasons.” – Real Madrid’s Official Website
Even though he may not be a name known worldwide, there is no denying that Kiko Casilla is a great goalkeeper. He will prove to be a challenge for Navas in goal and therefore it is quite difficult right now for anyone to really know who the starting keeper will actually be. With that said, most people (including myself) are expecting Navas to be the number one goalkeeper with Casilla as his backup.
Welcome to Real Madrid, Kiko Casilla!
