Real  Madrid hosted Malmo in the final game of the UEFA Champions League Group Stage as they have already qualified to the next round of the competition beforehand.

A Good Yet Useless Win:

Real Madrid came out with an extremely convincing 8-0 win against the Swedish side, Malmo, but this win should not cloud how the season has gone for us so far. Real Madrid didn’t need the win but they got it and ended the group stages in memorable fashion. We need these wins to happen where it truly matters such as in La Liga or later on in the UEFA Champions League. The bright side though is that they will come out of this with a greater self-esteem and hopefully we will be able to see some better performances as the year goes on.

Karim Benzema:

With all of the things going on in Karim Benzema’s personal life, he didn’t let it affect his play as he came out of the game with a hat-trick that will help get him back to the player he was last season. Benzema is an integral part of the Real Madrid squad and therefore we will always need to have him at his best in order to help us as he leads the attack.

Cristiano Ronaldo:

Cristiano Ronaldo, with his super hat-trick, has scored 11 goals in the six games of the UEFA Champions League group stages as he has set a new record. There is no denying that the Portuguese attacker hasn’t been at his best but breaking another record will motivate him to continue and show that he still one of the greatest players in the world.
