Real Madrid came out with a solid performance on the night albeit a few mistakes here and there. Overall, they were able to get the job done without too much hassle as they were crowned UEFA Super Cup 2017 Champions after beating Manchester United 2-1.
Keylor Navas – 5.5/10
Not the greatest match for Keylor Navas as he found himself in trouble quite a few times during the match but was also able to come out with some exceptional saves to keep Los Merengues safely in the game
Daniel Carvajal – 7.5/10
A strong performance from Daniel Carvajal as he continues to prove why he is regarded as one of the best right-backs in the world right now. The Spaniard was also able to provide a magnificent assist to Carlos Casemiro for the opening goal of the game
Sergio Ramos – 8/10
A great game from our captain and could be considered unlucky for not being able to get his name on the scoresheet. He was reliable and a force in defense as the Manchester Untied attackers faced all types of problems on the night
Raphael Varane – 8/10
The perfect partner to Sergio Ramos on the night as he made sure that not too much was able to get past him while showing his incredible pace a few times during the 90 minutes.
Marcelo – 7/10
Not his greatest performance but he was able to get the job done well on the night. He wasn’t much of a threat when going forward but was able to close his position down quite well on the night.
Carlos Casemiro – 9/10
What a game from Carlos Casemiro as he was a force when going forward while also getting his name on the scoresheet but he was even more of a force in the midfield as players such as Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku faced so much trouble with the Brazilian.
Toni Kroos – 8.5/10
Another depandable and brilliant performance from Toni Kroos as he was ablet o distribute the ball extremely well and forced a great save from David De Gea late in the match
Luka Modric – 9/10
Luka Modric was one of the main reasons why Real Madrid were able to control the game the way they did. The Croatian was incredible and distributed the ball with relative ease for most of the game.
Isco – 9.5/10
Absolutely incredible from Isco and was given the man-of-the-match award to prove it. The Spanish midfielder was all over the place and gave The Red Devils a headache every single time he touched the ball. The cherry on top was the goal which proved to be the winner of the game.
Gareth Bale – 6.5/10
Not the best performance from Gareth Bale and it could be argued that the Welshman genuinely deserved a goal for his efforts. Having said that, he will improve a lot more and will show just why we need him at this club.
Karim Benzema – 6.5/10
A confusing night for Karim Benzema as he had some moments of brilliance but other moments where it simply didn’t make sense to anyone. The French forward will want to improve from this performance and will do so very soon, I’m sure.
Marco Asensio – 7/10
Very unlucky not to score on the night but had a pretty good performance overall after replacing Isco.
Lucas Vazquez – 6.5/10
If Marco Asensio was unlucky not to score, then Lucas Vazquez was equally unlucky not to get an assist to his name with some good movement after replacing Gareth Bale
Cristiano Ronaldo – 6/10
Replaced Karim Benzema late in the game and was able to draw a few fouls as the Manchester United players were unable to cope with him.
